Church Service


1970-72. Elder Andersen served a mission in France. 


He served as a counselor and later as president in the Tampa Florida Stake.














1989-92. Served as a Mission President in the France Bordeaux Mission.










As the Executive Director of the Church Audiovisual Department, Elder Andersen managed construction of the broadcast facilities in the Conference Center. He supervised Church audiovisual productions, including the filming of “The Testaments of One Fold and One Shepard.” 

He assisted in supervising the work of the Church in Mexico and Central America. 

1994-97. He was a counselor of the Europe West Area Presidency, overseeing the Church in western Europe.

2002-05. While serving as a Seventy. Elder Andersen led the Work of the Church in southern Brazil, as President of the Brazil South Area presidency. 







Elder Andersen was named a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on April of 1993 at the age of 41.

He served in the Presidency of the Seventy from 2005 to 2009.

Prior to becoming an Apostle, Elder Andersen served as the Senior Member of the Presidency of the Seventy.






Neil L. Andersen was set apart as an Apostle on April 4, 2009.

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is beautiful to see in every nation and culture of the world,” Elder Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve told the Church News after a two-week visit to the Church’s Asia Area in June 2013.
